What a bad way to start the day at new place..
we checked in a hotel (booked through email.. ) , the hotel people people picked us up from airport and sent us to the wrong hotel.. so cheapo .. mcm rumahtumpangan. Tersedar bila balik jenjalan, nmpk the hotel that we were suppose to stay. Apa lagi, naik hangen satu badan. I demanded to see the manager.. but the daughter was there instead. Thank God I brought all the emails, as proof. It turns out that the manager's daughter knew nothing about the booking, as all this while I've been dealing with her employee (who had quit the job and now working for another hotel). finally, the let me n man stay at the hotel, but my sisters in law tk dpt room.. they stayed at a nearby hotel. Lepas tu, ok la.. we walked around the so called pekan.. every road is specialise with things.. e.g. along the "silk road"(nama jalan in vietnam tk ingat) ..sepanjang jalan tu la jual vietnam silk.. semer jalan is a walking distance.
the next day we went to HA LONG BAY. jauh jua dari hanoi.. sampai kt jeti.. naik boat mcm kapal cina zaman dulu (layar nyer).. we had lunch (special request for halal food) . melawat kampung terapung.. masuk gua.. wahhh sgt beraktiviti.. penat tau. gua tu atas bukit plaks tu. then balik ke hanoi.. mlm tu ada pasar mlm.. so jalan2 kt pasar mlm. Bought a new handbag/clutch USD8. hehe tkleh tahan tgk beg!
Hanoi is also famous for the paintings - tiru balik the famous paintings. All deals in USD. I bought the famous 'THE KISS" by G.Klimtz. Man beli The SUnflower - Van Gogh. Chantek all the paintings.. Ciktam tk le minat sgt..

last mac, AirAsia buat jualan murah.. ciktam was so excited, booked tickets to kuching for the whole famili.. ciktam chose the date 15-18 september (in conjuction with our birthdays - kunun nak celebret bedays kt kuching).. dah bayar tiket semer.. dh onli ciktam realise the date was in Ramadhan! hehehe..nak tk nak, proceed jua lah.. mmg mindblowing experience holidaying + shopping di bulan Ramadhan.. tk pernah di buat orang..
[the good news was we get to breakfast early (6.30pm)!]

our flight was late morning.. but we had to be there early. as usual ciktam kene jadik 'cikkiah'.. making sure the brood was there on time. Teh couldnt make it as she had to accompany kakMas to Sydney for a meeting. Andak + famili took the next flight out to Kuching.
the brood consist of : 11 Adults + 3 children + 2 babies
we stayed at Somerset Suite / Apartment.
we rented 1 kenari, 1 wira, 1 waja.
we bought some food supplies as well as cooked food at Pasar Ramadhan Satok. Befor cooking n preparing the food Ibu had 'samak' all the kitchen utensils (including the kitchen counter!) [cikman, remind me to bring the Sabun for Samaking to Ha Noi in November. u'll never know when u need to samak something]
later that nite, Maksu, Acu, Cikman n ciktam went to Pasar Malam Satok. The same bracelet i bought in KK was much cheaper now. In Jan, i bought it at RM60, u can get it now at RM20. MENCIK!
[not so good news : sahur kene bangun awaaall.. imsak is as early as 5.15am]

SARIKIN - the place to be! Kami gerakkhas from Kuching at 8.00am. Sampai Sarikin dlm kul 10 kut. Well, mcm2 ada.. so excited.. sampai tk ingat nk amik gambar... Masing2 jalan ngan grup sendiri. ciktam n maksu together (we were told that we both have good taste..heheh)
What did i buy there? I was very good, tk byk brg beli ! i bought 2 blouses (1 blouse kakLina dh songlap), 1 kain batik sutera timbul bandung (tk puas hati sbb same price kt bandung n kt sarikin.. so i bought 1), batik sutera. 3 helai tudung.. surprise? so am i. [total amount spend : aprox RM226.50].
later, we went to the pottery place. we bought some nice vases. [total amount spend less than RM30]
[thx to kakAiza for patiently showing us around Sarikin]
later in the evening, we broke fast at TOP something foodcourt. Belakang Somerset aje. It was the only muslim seafood there.

we were supposed to be on the Cruise, but it was shutdown due to maintenance services. it then decided to have a free n easy day. we walked along the river front. Bought t-shirt, tikar, wood ornaments, crafts, pua, sorveniers, bracelets, semi precious stones n ntah apa lagi! [total amount spent : lupa nk kira.. dlm RM1000]

free n easy again.
last minute buying.. terobok masin!
It was fun. I never tot dat holidaying in Ramadhan would be fun.
Jimat gak coz we didnt stop for lunch, snack, tea hehehe.
